Agree, sometimes questions are way too brief and cryptic to even guess what is wanted by way of advice - so no response from me. Old journalism adage : "if you want better answers, ask better questions". Good advice for some on here!

Have a happy Christmas,

The good thing about the forum is that in 99.9% of posts, someone will provide an answer and impart wisdom, and even if they can't answer directly, will refer the query to a more appropriate location or site. It's never ceased to amaze me how much knowledge is to be found here.

Cheers Mick

Add to it-:

Battery charging.
Dual battery set ups.
Whats the best 4x4.
Whats the best tyre.
What type of oil should I use.
Mounting an antenna on my 4x4.
Whats the best GPS.
Whats the best phone.

The funny thing is people still answer stupid questions as it was the normal thing to do.

I'm waiting for someone to ask about investing and finances.

The world is full of people who can't make their own decision.......there the same people who blame someone else for their mistakes.

Some of you lot are getting way too precious or full of yourselves. If someone posts a question, answer it if you can otherwise shut up.

Do we need to use x number of words to pose a question now ???

Noticed just recently, the moderators have eased the reins a little.
This is good as the forum has now become a little less tense and bit more interesting.

I dont think we should push it though.

There only trying to stop the button pushers, you know the ones that reply to a post for no reason just to get a response.. LOL

Hi Gone Bush, it is an interesting post you have, I am a little surprised at some of the responses, we are all different, some people are good with 'words' and others are not so good which could be why the questions are so short and sharp and straight to the point. I remember seeing that first example that you have put forward and thinking then that it was short and to the point however if I had any knowledge of 'solar esky's' I definitely would have responded to the question.

Fortunately there are not too many posts that go through without a response.

Merry Xmas

Cheers

Dunworkin, I just think that some posts give the distinct impression that the Poster has not done ANY work whatsoever on his own subject.

Surely the request for help about buying a cruiser could have included a short note about exhaustive efforts searching Carpoint or the Trader mags etc.

And Gramps you grumpy old bugger, at least I reeled you in !!

Anyway, it's livened up the Forum ain't it !!??

cheers to all

Merry Xmas and Bah Humbug if it applies.

Yeah I agree with your sentiments there, I didn't think of it in that light. On the subject of the Landcruiser I definitely agree, you would have to have some idea as to a start point.

Cheers

I originally thought the "Solar Esky" question may be a 'fair dinkum' :)

""Maîneÿ (wa) posted:
I did find this, but it's only preferences for a project and it's dated NEXT year....
"841. Solar powered esky. View preferences for project. Year: 2009; Supervisors:. Dr. Anthony Zander and Prof. Valerie Linton; Moderators: Current Students"

So did not consider it as an existing working product that would be of interest to the original poster""

However after I googled, the only reply I received looked a bit suspect

Mainey . . .

Mainey , BCF are flogging off a Package that could be construed as a "solar esky" , consists of a 12v fridge + battery pack + a suitcase style solar panel /regulator..... package price varies of course by brand / size of fridge........................ have a coldy chilled by solar and a merry Xmas is the result ,lol.

Have a Goodun,

The ones I love are like

"Can someone tell me the phone number and address of the TJM store in Danenong."

I't like saying - I can't be bothered looking up the address in the phone book, or yellow pages online or google so can you do it for me.

Some would say "If it ain't broke don't fix it". But lets face it 99% of the topics have been done to death a million times.

In my humble opion and I hope the Gods don't take it the wrong way, but this Forum needs a revamp like categories/headings/topics like so many other forums have/are, and just maybe so many of the stupid/repeat questions that are asked maybe eliminated... just maybe.

In the meantime... MERRY CHRISTMAS.
